How does this represent social groups?
I think that this represents the fashionable people at the school and the students that take textiles because I have used a fashionable model of my choice, that is in fashion including makeup and long hair. This will also attract a female audience which I think associates with the textiles course as mostly fashionable females take the course. I have also used a simple font and colour scheme to make sure that it doesn't confuse the reader and so that the model stands out as she is very colourful and the background includes mostly black and white.
Who would be the audience for the product?
The target market for my prelim magazine would be students that take the a level textiles course and therefore I have aimed my magazine at teenage girls as this is the most that take this course and therefore more copies of this would sell as they would be interested in this.
How did you attract this audience?
I have done this by using a fashionable model with fashionable clothes, long hair and bright makeup, this is what all of these students aspire to be. Also on the contents page I have put on pictures of manikins with clothes designed by students and therefore this is what all of the textiles students want to do with their coursework etc.
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
From this process I have learnt how to take a good photo for example using different lights and using shadows to create a good photo, for example I have used shadows on the girls face to create an atmosphere and to make the makeup stand out more. I have also learnt about Photoshop for example editing the colouring in the image, making them completely different and how to crop for example and more. Therefore I think I am ready to do my real magazine as I know how to use all of this technology.
